See these crazy kids? Ya, well… they are US! Circa August 7, 1987:
Oh man we loved each other then. But we had no idea how rich, how deep, and how real our love would become as it aged, like good wine. When I look at this photo, I see how much I believed in G. And I believe in him even more now. We had NO idea how much life would test us but we believed in promises. The promises we made that day.
We have decided to reaffirm our marriage vows in an August ceremony for our family and closest friends that will have them share with us for an intimate evening cocktail reception. Without Twitter I’m not sure how this would have come together. We were introduced to the lovely @CarenDoherty by the talented @MVPetals when we happened to meet up serendipitously while I was out for coffee one morning. She has put together an amazing evening for us. We will use the gorgeous setting owned by @SchoolhouseWed for our event. The amazing musical talent of @Kimbereley_Dunn will provide the romantic mood for the evening. The ceremony itself will be made meaningful by @GordMarriage. The invitations were arranged by our daughter with the talented design of @graceannounce and we even have a signature drink shared with us by the faboosh @cocktaildeeva ! So, given that the planning came together with a bunch of tweeps it seemed fitting that we should have our very own Hashtag, right? Who would have thought of that when we married?
There wasn’t even an internet folks…

I find it interesting that you say we are inspirational because mostly I think we are ridiculous! But we do take our marriage seriously and we have worked hard to keep it going. I guess the fact that we still enjoy each other enough to BE ridiculous is kind of inspiring…

We have faced many challenges and our youngest graduates from high school tomorrow, so it seemed that a reaffirmation was a really good thing to share with our families now. I think some things really are timeless. And you are so welcome about the comment. I’m watching you now, lol.
